Overview
Joining OneRail as a Junior Data Analyst means becoming part of a team focused on turning data into clear, useful reporting that helps internal teams make better decisions. You will work closely with teams across Transportation, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT, and other departments to understand reporting needs, troubleshoot data questions, improve visibility into key metrics, and help strengthen OneRail’s analytics capabilities.
This role places a strong emphasis on Power BI reporting, dashboard maintenance, SQL-based analysis, documentation, and process improvement. Experience with Snowflake, Confluent, Python, or other modern data tools is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Build, update, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that support business, operational, and performance reporting needs.
  • Assist with recurring reporting processes, including data refreshes, report validation, issue investigation, and stakeholder follow-up.
  • Write and modify SQL queries to retrieve, analyze, and validate data used in dashboards, reports, and ad hoc requests.
  • Support internal teams by helping answer data questions, troubleshoot reporting issues, and clarify metric definitions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into practical dashboards, report updates, or analysis requests.
  • Monitor report accuracy and data quality, escalating issues and helping investigate inconsistencies when they arise.
  • Create and maintain documentation for reports, dashboards, datasets, metrics, processes, and reporting logic.
  • Help improve reporting processes by identifying opportunities to reduce manual work, standardize outputs, and improve usability.
  • Support the development of self-service reporting capabilities by organizing reports, improving documentation, and helping users understand available data.
  • Collaborate with analysts, technical teams, and business users to improve reporting standards and analytics best practices.
Qualifications
  • 0–2 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, operations analytics, or a related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
  • Experience creating, updating, or maintaining reports, dashboards, or data visualizations.
  • Foundational Power BI experience, including working with visuals, report pages, filters, datasets, or measures.
  • Foundational SQL skills, including the ability to query, filter, join, and summarize data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools for data review, validation, and analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reliable reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate data issues and identify patterns or inconsistencies.
  • Ability to organize information clearly and document reporting logic, definitions, and processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain data concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize requests, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support teams across the organization.
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Experience in SaaS, supply chain, logistics, transportation, operations, or another fast-paced business environment.
  • Experience with Power Query, DAX, semantic models, or Power BI dataset design.
  • Exposure to Snowflake or other cloud data platforms.
  • Exposure to Python or other scripting languages for data analysis, transformation, or automation.
  • Familiarity with Confluent, event-streaming platforms, or data pipeline concepts is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with KPI development, data quality checks, dashboard design, or reporting documentation.
  • Experience supporting internal stakeholders with recurring reports, dashboard requests, or operational analysis.
  • Exposure to process improvement, reporting standardization, or self-service business intelligence initiatives.
  • Relevant coursework, internship experience, certifications, or portfolio projects in analytics, business intelligence, SQL, Power BI, or data visualization.

On-Site Roles: This position is based at OneRail’s headquarters in Orlando, FL (ZIP 32819). While on-site presence may be required, remote candidates will be considered, with preference given to those located in the Central Florida area.
